SCF & The Prophetic

We believe scripture teaches us to seek after the gift of prophecy. Prophecy is a declaring of God’s word in the power and authority of the Holy Spirit. It declares the heart and mind of God to believers. All prophecy must be judged in accordance with the Word of God. We believe there are different levels of inspiration for prophetic utterance; however, none of these supersedes scripture. The scriptures are our final authority.

The scripture teaches us about prophecy in at least two ways. There is the gift of prophecy 1 Cor 12:8 and there is the office of Prophet Eph 4:11. The gift of prophecy is an immediate word from the Lord to the local assembly for direction, exhortation, rebuke or comfort. The Holy Spirit can speak through any believer in this manner.

As a point of order, SCF does not allow individual rebuke or correction to be given in a public setting. Rebukes or correction must be submitted to the eldership to be judged in accordance with scripture before being given.

The office of Prophet is a call to be watchman for the “Church”. The Prophet is the mouthpiece of God in the earth. Amos 3:7 teaches us that the Father will not do anything on the earth unless He reveals it to His prophets. The Prophet warns, directs, counsels, and teaches the church. Prophets will prepare the way and announce the coming of the Bridegroom God, Jesus. The office of Prophet is being totally restored in the church.

God has always had His prophets, but now the gift is being brought to the forefront. As God reveals His plan in the earth, He uses a variety of methods. He speaks through the language of dreams and vision. The book of Acts teaches us that our young men will see visions and our old men will dream dreams. Both are a part of heavenly revelations.

SCF embraces the gift of prophecy and the office of the Prophet. We believe that God speaks through dreams and visions. We are growing in the knowledge of these gifts and their operation. We do not hold any prophetic word, dream, or vision to be greater than God’s written word. We are a supernatural people moving in and under the authority of God.
