Our Vision

Southside Christian Fellowship, in McDonough, GA, is a maturing body of believers, flowing in the gifts of the Spirit, walking out the anointed call of Jesus. Restoration and compassion are our hallmark. Many people come that need to be healed emotionally and physically. Others come simply needing to be encouraged, redirected and sent back out. Still others need deliverance from all forms of addiction and perversion. We are a warring people, not willing to accept the values reflected by our current society, but willing to allow God to use us as agents of change. Our call is not one dependent upon the approval of man or the acceptance of those who are in power in the political, social, or religious arenas. Ours is a call to revolution!

Our battle is not with man, but with the principalities of darkness. Ours is a quest of love, regenerating everyone and everything we come in contact with, through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe the kingdom of God is here now, and yet it is still to come in fullness. We believe that the model prayer is not one spoken by rote or in futility, but rather one of reality, declaring that His will, will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The compassion of the Father is the force that drives us to meet the needs of the poor, the hurting, the dying, the afflicted, and the broken-hearted. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we bring hope to a hopeless generation.

As agents of change, we mirror Jesus, interceding for those in government, those who hate us, those who despitefully use us, and those who say all manner of evil against us.

We are not in competition with other churches. We help them in any and every way possible. We see ourselves as facilitators of unity, not of strife and division.

Our destiny is one of abundant life in the Kingdom now and eternally. People may not agree with us or understand us, but they cannot help but be touched by our love, because it is the love of the Father. If we are not impacting those around us with the Love of Christ, we are falling short of the mark.

As much as we see ourselves as warriors in the Army of God, we also see ourselves as part of the Bride of Christ. Jesus is our soon-coming King, but more importantly, He is our returning betrothed. His presence is more important than the air we breathe or the food we eat. Worship is a natural part of our hunger for His manifest presence. We, like David, unashamedly worship Jesus with all that is within us. He is the object of our praise, our gratitude, and our love. He is the lover of our soul. We are content only when we walk in the realm of His presence. We are a chosen people called to demonstrate His love, His favor, and His compassion. We love God! We love ourselves! And we love those around us!

We, as a body, are determined to flow in the present move of God. We have an appreciation of past God encounters, and are willing to learn from those moves; however, we are not interested in looking backward. The Kingdom is progressing toward its destiny, and we are moving with the Kingdom. We are a Kingdom people!
